Baby's handmade wardrobe - Newborn size

I had always imagined I would make my babe's wardrobe myself. I sell handmade baby/kids clothes and have done so for years (including making clothes for my nieces). During our fertility journey I would find myself making clothing and blankets for our little one - trying my best to be positive and put forward the idea of our future.

It was wonderful having handmade clothing as a way to focus and connect.

I will attempt to blog the clothing I make for each stage for the first year. At this point I have sewn up the Newborn, 0-3m, 3-6m size and have begun working on the 6-12m sizes. After I finish each size I will hopefully update the pages with what worked and what I would change.

I have not made a strict handmade wardrobe... The collection is dotted with store bought items (all cotton).  I have not included these in my blog.

Baby is to be born in May - this is towards the end of Autumn in Australia so the wardrobe choices reflect the expected weather.

Baby sleep gown to the Right is a free pattern generously provided by Rachel of Stitched together (here). The fabric is Birch Organic from Spotlight.

I tried to create a gender neutral wardrobe with mix and max options. 7 pants, 4 bloomers and 6 bodysuits. Most fabrics are organic jersey.
Patterns as follows: Top row: Bloomers by Brindille and Twig. Second row: Newborn size bodysuits by Brindille and Twig. Bottom row: Combination of Cuff Pants, Super Slim Harems and Footed leggings - all by Brindille and Twig.

Every sewing pattern I used was amazing. I would recommend them all. Everything is suited to cloth diapers as well.
Stay tuned for blogs on larger sizes and more about our family and story.
